Samuel Chukwueze: Villarreal star reportedly agrees new 4-year deal with €100m release clause
Samuel Chukwueze has reportedly agreed a new four year deal that will keep him at Villarreal until the summer of 2023.
According to Spanish news media outlet AS, the contract will have €100million as release clause in its first two years and €80m in the final two years. The Nigerian international's release clause has been increased three times since he joined the Yellow Submarine's first team from €25m, to €65m, and now €100m. Chukwueze is Villarreal's first player to be nominated for the Kopa Trophy, organized by France Football magazine and he is among the top ten candidates looking to scoop the award. The 20-year-old scored ten goals in 47 appearances for Villarreal last season including four assists. Chukwueze who won bronze with the Super Eagles at AFCON 2019 has scored two goals and provided two assists in only eight matches in the current season.
