Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has filed a suit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Zenith Bank Plc, over the freezing of his personal accounts.
The suit was filed on the Governor's behalf by Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), at the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.
Fayose is seeking the de-freezing of the accounts.
The EFCC and Zenith Bank have been ordered by the Court, to appear before it on July 4 to show cause why Fayose's demands on the freezing of his accounts should not be granted.
Justice Taiwo Taiwo, while delivering his ruling, said he quite understood that the applicant (Fayose) enjoys immunity and that the court can adjudicate on this matter as canvassed by the counsel to the plaintiff, but he pointed out that the relief he basically sought was a mandatory order of the court.
