Following mounting criticisms being heaped on the EFCC by aggrieved individuals and corporate entities, an explanation has been given by the anti-graft agency, Monday, on why it has been freezing the accounts of suspects being investigated for financial crimes.
EFCC Spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement in Abuja, that the EFCC was backed by law to freeze the accounts of the suspects and that there was nothing wrong in doing that.
Wilson refuted claims that the actions of the commission were vindictive, stating that they were simply meant to aid the proper investigation of the suspects.
