Three people have been shot and wounded outside the headquarters of the National Security Agency, in Maryland, local media reported on Wednesday. Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations are at the scene of the incident to investigate while a suspect has been arrested outside America's electronic espionage agency
Gunfire rang out from a black SUV which was parked near the entrance of the NSA facility in Fort Meade. CBS News showed images of the black SUV who front windshield showed visible bullet holes.
Fires service and the Anne Arundel County police departments on twitter said they were responding to a possible shooting outside the agency's campus. A spokesperson at Fort Meade confirmed that Highway 32 around the facility had been cordoned off.
A White House spokeswoman said US President Donald Trump had been briefed on the incident.
In March 2015, one person was killed and another seriously wounded when they tried to drive their SUV through the NSA's heavily guarded gate, ignoring commands from the armed guards to stop, who subsequently opened fire on the vehicle. It was later reported that they might have been influenced by drugs and took a wrong turn as they had attended a party.
