Ighalo Set to Impress Oliseh for Future Call Up

It is no more news that the Nigerian super eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh have submitted the list of invited players for the coming match against the Tanzanian national football team. What is news however is the reaction of some of the uninvited players to their being left out of the list of invited players. It is clear these players are not taking it lying low and they had been voicing their opinions. One of the players to open up on this is Odion Ighalo, the Nigerian player plying his trade at Watford.  The Watford forward had expressed his displeasure at being left out of the team, but has also vowed to convert the setback this has brought him to a remarkable comeback.

He made this known to newsmen after discovering that his name had been left out of the list submitted by the Nigerian coach regarding the players that would do battle against Tanzania in the AFCON 2017 qualifying match that is taking place early next month. He insisted that he was not so happy with the outcome, but quickly added that he will not allow his spirit to be dampened by the exclusion. He believed that his own day would come and he would be able to wear the Green and White jersey once again.

Odion Ighalo once plied his trade with Udinese as a striker and he said his omission from the team list submitted by Oliseh would act as the booster he needs to perform better for his club and he is assured that the coach would notice his performance and would never be able to leave him out of the next team call up for national assignments. He added that he is one that believes there is profit in hard work.

He said he would double his effort in his club and work harder than before to surmount any obstacle that may want to prevent him from catching the attention of the coach to make sure such does not occur pending the time the next opportunity to play for Nigeria would come knocking.  He added that Sunday Oliseh is the boss and he has the freedom to invite any player he felt would do the job for him perfectly against Tanzania.

The Nigerian coach, Sunday Oliseh had earlier made a public address in which he hinted that players like Ighalo have futures in the super eagles. The Watford striker praised this decision and said the declaration by the coach is prompting him to put more effort and do better for his club so as to gain a place to play for his country in the nearest future.

It would be recalled that the Watford Striker was on song for his side during their away match at Gordison Park, which marked his first goal in premier league, though the game ended in a draw.  Many football watchers have shown their surprises at why the 26 year old striker was left out of the list of invited players. It would be recalled that Sunday Oliseh had earlier submitted an 18-man list of foreign players to be invited to camp against Tanzania.
