Heung-Min Son: Tottenham star's red card for Andre Gomes challenge overturned

Heung-Min Son can finally breath a sigh of relief after his red card for a challenge on Everton's Andre Gomes being reversed. Son was handed marching orders following his tackle that resulted in Andre Gomes' horrific ankle injury on Sunday, November 3.
Spurs were leading 1-0 courtesy of Dele Alli's strike in the 63rd minute, When Gomes fell awkwardly into Sergie Aurier after the mistimed sliding tackle from Son. The clash left Gomes in excruciating pain, with subsequent reports indicating the seemingly innocuous challenge led to the Everton player suffering a fracture dislocation of his right ankle. Son was initially adjudged to have fouled Gomes and referee Martin Atkinson was left with no choice but to send off the South Korean. The Premier League would later confirm the South Korean was sent off for "endangering the safety of a player which happened as a consequence of his initial challenge." Tottenham, however, appealed the decision and will now have their star-man back after an independent panel overturning the red card. As such, Son will be available for his side's next three Premier League matches against Sheffield United, West Ham and Bournemouth.
