The two football tacticians have crossed path many times since 2013 while at German Bundesliga - Klopp (Borussia Dortmund) and Guardiola (Bayern Munich). And the pair reunited in the Premier League again as foes managing Liverpool and Man City. In the 2018-19 campaign, Klopp lost the Premier League title to Guardiola, but ended up landing the Champions League crown. A performance that helped the German tactician claim the managerial honour at the just-concluded FIFA awards in Milan after seeing off Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino. “I respect them a lot. “What [Mauricio] Pochettino did last year was so exceptional. Many times when you don’t win a title, people don’t remember you but he was extremely impressive. He has built his team step by step, keeping the team together. “Pep Guardiola… what can I say? He has won so many titles, the way his teams play. He’s so exceptional, hands down, the best manager I’ve coached against. It was an honour to be nominated alongside them,” Klopp was quoted as saying on FIFA’s official website. Since taking over at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has re-positioned his team into one that plays attacking and attractive football, Making them one of the most formidable teams in club football.
