Yes, premier league is back! It has been a total football fest and we've loved and enjoyed every bit of it.

After an exciting summer filled with World Cup action (which some have called "the best" in recent years) followed by an incredible transfer window which closed (only in England I might add) before the start of the premier league season for the first time, football action in the most watched league in the world is up and running with exciting round of opening games already played.

The 2018/2019 season kicked off on Friday with Manchester United (whose coach Jose Mourinho had a very interesting pre-season preparation with complaints over transfer activities and the club) welcoming former champions Leicester City to Old Trafford.

With a summer filled with complaints and doom prediction for the season from Mourinho, many pundits and fans eagerly awaited the game with no idea what to expect from their team after the club failed to sign a much needed defender Mourinho clamoured for.

The Red Devils however overcame a summer filled news of strained relationships between players and coach in their camp to hold on to a 2-1 victory over the Foxes, resisting a late charge from Claude Puel's men.

Pogba, fresh from winning the World Cup captained the side, scoring the first goal of the new season from the penalty spot, while left-back Luke Shaw made it 2 with his first professional goal in 134 games (67 games for both Manchester United and Southampton) in the premier league. In other games, Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea overcame the Community shield's defeat to Manchester City and defeated Huddersfield Town 3 nil at the John Smith's Stadium with goals from midfield powerhouse Ngolo Kante, new signing Jorginho and Spanish winger Pedro.

On Sunday, Liverpool began their push for the title with a commanding 4 nil over Weest Ham United at Anfield. Last year highest goal scorer for Liverpool, Mohamed Salah opened his account for the season while strike partner Sadio Mane scored a brace and substitute Daniel Sturridge made it 4.

Pep Guardiola side continued their fine start to the season, following last weekend victory over Chelsea at the Community Shield with comfortable 2-0 victory over Unai Emery's Arsenal at the Emirate Stadium. Raheem Sterling scored the first goal just 14 minutes into the game while Portuguese International Bernardo Silva made it 2 in the 64th minute, putting the game beyond Emery and Arsenal.

Arsenal's next game pits them against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Manchester City plays Huddersfield Town at Etihad while Brighton & Hove Albion plays host to Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.
