The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced on Tuesday, the appointment of Gernot Rohr, as the new Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles.
The German tactician has signed a two-year contract to work with the Senior National Football Team.
His appointment comes after the recommendation by the NFF's technical and development committee.
Over his long football career, Rohr, 63, has been both a player and a coach.
He played for the likes of FC Girondins Bordeaux in France as a defender; and later went on to become a coach at the club, leading them to the UEFA Cup final in 1996 before they lost to German side, Bayern Munich.
In Africa, he has coached the likes of Gabon, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso.
The NFF had earlier picked Paul Le Guen for the job; but the Frenchman had rejected the position when he couldn't reach acceptable terms with the football body.
Rohr will work with the likes of Alloy Agu and Salisu Yusuf in the national team set-up.
