Ryan Jimmo dead: Former UFC fighter dies in alleged hit-and-run incident

Canadian mixed martial artist, and seven-fight UFC veteran, Ryan Jimmo has died due to injuries sustained from a hit-and-run incident in a nightclub parking lot in Canada in the early morning hours of June 26.
Jimmo was involved in an altercation at around 2:15 a.m., in the parking lot of the H2O Lounge in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. As Jimmo walked away from the vehicle driven by the "suspects," the driver of an older-model, extended-cab pickup truck,' accelerated, striking Jimmo.

Jimmo was transported to a local hospital where he later died from the injuries. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday June 28th.

Jimmo's finest moment in an MMA ring was at UFC 149 in 2012 when he knocked out Anthony Perosh in just seven seconds.

The sensational finish is one of the fastest knockouts in UFC history, quicker even than Conor McGregor's 13-second demolition of legendary Jose Aldo.

The Edmonton Police Service who are investigating the case are yet to officially release Jimmo's name as the victim, however, the news was confirmed by Jimmo's aunt Sharon who appeared on CBC on Sunday evening. As of this time, the police are still searching for both the vehicle and parties who they believe to have perpetrated the attack.

UFC president Dana White released a tribute to Jimmo on his Twitter account last evening.
