AC Milan have confirmed that Sinisa Mihajlovic has been relieved of his duties as head coach less than 12 months after he was appointed to the position.
The 47-year-old has ultimately paid the price for a run of five matches without a victory, which has left the Rossoneri sixth in Serie A.
A statement on the club's official website, reads "The club would like to thank Mihajlovic for the dedication and hard work carried out this season.
"Cristian Brocchi will now be in charge of the first team until the end of the season. AC Milan would like to welcome Mr Brocchi and wish him all the best."
The 40-year-old, who made over 100 appearances for Milan during his playing career, has recently coached the club's reserve side.
