Edo APC Crisis: State Party Secretary Sacked From Office
The crisis in the Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) deepened on Tuesday, November 12, with the sacking of the state secretary, Lawrence Okah.
According to the Nation newspaper, The assistant state secretary, Ikuenobe Anthony, in a statement said Okah was removed from his position after a meeting of the state executive committee on Tuesday, November 12, where a vote of no confidence was passed on Okah. Anthony disclosed that the state secretary was removed after the state executive committee passed a vote of no confidence on him in accordance with Article 17 (v) of the party’s constitution. The assistant secretary noted that following the decision of the committee, Okah ceases to be the state secretary of the party immediately. He said the party will announce a replacement soon in accordance with Article 17 (vi) of the constitution.
