Kogi elections : PDP chieftains decamp to APC few days to governorship election

Prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftains in Kogi state on Wednesday, November 7 defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the governorship election in the state.
The defectors were led by a former acting governor of the state, Chief Clarence Olafemi. The chieftains formally defected to the ruling party during the APC rally held in Yagba federal constituency. Other prominent politicians who defected to the APC includes former commissioner for water resources, Osanusi and former House of Assembly member for Mopamuro constituency, Eric Fiki. Other political stalwarts from the area who dumped the PDP were Bola Fagbola and former Mopamuro local government chairman, Funsho Daniyan. The politicians were said to have joined the ruling party with thousands of their supporters. While receiving the PDP’s defectors, Governor Bello assured them of equal opportunity in the party.
