PDP postpones convention, extends Makarfi tenure by 12 months

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed its National Convention following the divergent court rulings and the sealing off of the venue of the convention which was scheduled to hold on Wednesday.
The August 17th PDP National Convention that was Cancelled has been concluded with three main resolutions reached by the party.
1. That the tenure of the Ahmed Markafi led Caretaker Committee has been extended by not more than 12 months.
2. That the Caretaker Committee is to have a membership of thirteen people.
3. That the members of the Caretaker Committee are not permitted to contest in the main elections when it will hold..........
The party's National Executive Committee (NEC) met at the Government House and decided to postpone the convention and the leaders and delegates later moved to the party's secretariat to pass a vote of confidence on Makarfi.
