Aisha Buhari holds prayer session for Nigeria in Aso Rock
Nigeria's first lady, Aisha Buhari hosted a special prayer session over challenges militating against the nation's development.
The Nation reports that the first lady during the prayer session on Monday, November 11, reviewed the importance of supplication to God for his guidance in nation-building and development. Speaking during her address, Aisha said prayer is the highway through which requests and innermost desires made to God are achieved. She said: “Islam has outlined responsibilities to our creator, our societies, our close and extended families and our neighbors and we must carry out these responsibilities to the best of our abilities.” The first lady also urged men as head of every family to hold onto the teaching of prophet Muhammad by showing responsibility for their households. She said prayers for Nigeria will spread across the nation and generations and as well can help address all the challenges stalling development in the country. Also reacting to the high rate of killings, corruption and abduction of children lately, the first lady urged parents to show love, care and remain compassionate in carrying out their responsibilities in their homes. Aisha also appreciated the presence of scholars and high government officials that attended the prayer session. I call on the Muslim Ummah to promote the spirit of tolerance, love, harmony, and peaceful coexistence among the people of different faiths in the nation," she said.
