Group laments Onitsha - Owerri road, calls it a death trap
The Onitsha-Owerri road is now a death trap according to The Human Rights, Liberty Access, and Defenders, Peace Foundation (HURIDE).
According to the group, many lives have been lost, as many vehicle have fallen into it. The group consequently called on Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state and the federal government to come to the help of the people of the state. HURIDE in a statement by its secretary, Noel Udoji also accused the state governor of not doing enough to rehabilitate federal roads in the state. The group alleged that given the governor's attitude towards the poor infrastructure of the state, it shows that the people are not in good hands and that they made a mistake by electing him. Going further, the group lamented that the governor's exposure to western countries has not helped him improve lives of people of the state The group said given his exposure, it was expected of the governor to bring modern infrastructure to the state.
