Huge blow for Real Madrid as two of their main midfielders get injured on the same night
Wales vs Croatia Group E Euro 2020 qualifier saw Real Madrid duo of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale pick up respective injuries in the match. Modric was involved in a collision with Harry Wilson and was helped off the pitch while Bale finished the game with a sharp pain in his ankle.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw which gave the Welsh side hope of reaching the Euro 2020 tournament next summer. Ryan Giggs men will have to earn six points in three games against Hungary, Slovakia and Azerbijan but will be hoping the Slovaks drop points along the line. But the injury concern has dealt Real Madrid a huge blow as both midfielders will be assessed by the club's medical team ahead of their trip to Mallorca at the weekend. Modric could barely walk as he was substituted and helped off but Bale could not leave the pitch because Giggs had already made all three changes in the match.
