Real Madrid Go Top Of La Liga Table After Narrow Win Over Real Valladolid

Real Valladolid vs Real Madrid ended 1-0 in favour of Zinedine Zidane's side moved to top of La Liga. Nacho Fernandez scored the only goal of the match as Los Blancos managed to take away all three points at the Jose Zorrilla Stadium. Joaquin Fernandez should have been sent off early in the match after launching a crunching tackle on Rodrygo. The Brazilian was lucky to continue playing in the match. Few minutes later, Carlos Casemiro thought he has put Madrid ahead after heading a cross from a set piece but the VAR adjudged the Brazilian to have been marginally offside. Valladolid also had their moment in the match from a corner kick as Thibaut Courtois palmed away Michel Herrero's direct effort. The first chance of the second half fell to Rodrygo but Jordi Masip was equal to the task as he made a fine save. Twelve minutes from time, a cross from Toni Kroos found Nacho in the boss who headed home to give Los Merengues the lead in the 72nd minute. Valladolid were in search for an equalizer but Ferland Mendy made a vital block from Oscar Plano attempt on goal to keep the score in favour of Real. And it finished with Los Blancos taking all three points and moved ahead of Barcelona on the La Liga table with three points. Zidane's side will host Diego Simone's Atletico Madrid while Lionel Messi and and teammates will seek revenge against Levante.
