Scammers intensify use of Aisha Buhari in their illegal affairs.
A basic search on Facebook revealed several social media accounts in the name of the first lady While the verification symbol on social media for celebrities and politicians has gone a long way in curbing the menace of fraudulent activities, many scammers remain bold in their pursuit of fast money and often times soil the name of celebrities and politicians. We have heard of many cases where a celebrity's social media age will be hacked or of a hacker using a politician or celebrity's name to defraud gullible Nigerians of their hard-earned money. Till this day many fall victims of these fraudsters who have perfected the method of posing as someone else just to appeal to preys before going in for the kill. Legit.ng recently gathered that one of the most used name for such activities is the current first lady, Aisha Buhari.
These suspected scammers create fake profile pages and message people who mostly end up falling for lies and having to pay for it. Recently, an Aisha Buhari account was used to promise some Nigerians N400,000 in which they were directed to call a certain Adams Emmanuel to claim the money. It was tagged a token of appreciation for people voting the president and some people actually fell for it and ended being deceived till they gave out some of their money. A simple search on Facebook also showed several fake profiles in the name of Aisha Buhari, all claiming to be the first lady of Nigeria with an obvious intent to deceive gullible Nigerians.
