Bomb attack in Maiduguri; two suicide bombers dead and nine people injured
A failed attempt by two suicide bombers to infiltrate a suburb of Maiduguri, has led to the death of the attackers and injuring nine others, having hurriedly detonated the device strapped on them in a bid to avoid capture.
Police spokesman in Borno State, Joseph Kwaji, while confirming the incident said: "On 14/03/2018 at about 20:25 hrs, two female suicide bombers in an attempt to infiltrate the Alikaramanti area, after Giwa Barracks, were intercepted by security operatives on duty, but they hurriedly detonated the IED strapped to their bodies, killing themselves and injuring nine others."
He added: "Corpses and injured victims have been evacuated to the hospital and normalcy restored."
