The House Committees on Power and Public Procurement have been mandated to investigate the alleged massive corrupt practices committed by Manitoba Hydro International Nigeria Limited.
The mandate was issued at the Thursday sitting of the House of Representatives. Lawmakers made the resolve after Honourable Gaza Jonathan, a PDP representative from Nassarawa State, sponsored the motion.
The House alleged that the exchange rate being used by the management company since 2012 has been higher than the official and parallel market rates.
The lawmakers also noted that Manitoba Hydro International Nigeria Limited had not met its key performance indicators, as stipulated under the management contract.
The committees are to report back to the House in four weeks, for further legislative action on the matter.
