'Fake Lawyer' arrested in Ogun after five years of operating
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Mr. Lawrence Oyedenu for parading himself as a lawyer. According to reports, Oyedenu has been representing clients in different courts within Ogun State. The police said the suspect had practised law for over five years, yet he is never a lawyer. While being paraded by Ogun Police Commissioner, Kenneth Ebrimson, on Thursday at the state police headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the suspect claimed to have studied law at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). He was said to have been arrested after allegedly collecting the sum of N400,000 from an unsuspecting client to prosecute a civil case. In a related development, four other persons were paraded for being fake Immigration officers. Police said the four men specialized in defrauding expatriates in the state of huge sums of money.
