Abaribe under fire as Ohaneze rejects senator’s stand on Buhari’s resignation

Amid eulogy and commendation for the senator representing Abia South senatorial district at the Senate, Eyinnaya Abaribe, by many Nigerians, especially the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for calling for President Muhammadu Buhari's resignation, the Ohaneze Ndi-Igbo has come hard on the lawmaker. According to reports, The group lambasted senator Abaribe, accusing him of working against Igbo presidency in 2023. It was gathered the group in a statement signed by its secretary-general, Dimm Uche Okwukwu, distanced itself from Abaribe's call for President Buhari's resignation. It also accused the senator of working for Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo’s presidential ambition, stressing that the senator was working against the interest of Ndi-Igbo for the presidential seat in 2023.The statement read: “The senator who represents Abia South senatorial district at the Senate has lost touch with the aspirations of Ndi-Igbo having lost out in the power circle at the centre."
