He challenged Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle to show proof of evidence that he Yari was responsible for the crimes going on in the state. The former governor commended Governor Matawalle for telling the whole world that he is the arrowhead of insecurity in the state, calling him to tender evidence that would justify his claims. In a swift response, Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle warned that Abdulaziz Yari should know in his mind that what went on during his autocratic government was not a democracy, adding that the killings of innocent citizens of the state started from his administration and not the present administration. I have tried my best to ensure that I do not have problems with anyone but Abdulaziz Yari has pushed me to the wall and I can not accept it,” the governor said. According to governor Matawalle, Yari was only doing what he is doing to attract public attention that he is being witch haunted by the current administration in the state. No fewer than fourteen members of the Yansakai group, alleged to have killed some bandits in the guise of protecting lives and properties of Zamfara state indigenes have been arrested by the combined efforts of the security agencies operating in the state.
