Former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Ehindero, and commissioner of police budget, John Obaniyi, were on Tuesday, November 12, discharged of the N16.4 million fraud allegation charge against them.
        The former top police officials were discharged by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court sitting in Apo, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. In the verdict, Justice Silvanus Oriji, said that the prosecution failed to establish that the Ehindero and Obaniyi diverted the funds for personal use. Justice Oriji therefore upheld a no-case submission filed by the defendants' lawyers, Kelvin Omoraw and Samuel Odariko, since, according to him, investigations officer did not discredit the claims of the former officers.
