2023 presidential ticket: PDP makes important announcement on zoning
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused what it called political terrorists of trying to mislead the public and cause disaffection within its ranks ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
The party’s spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the accusation on Sunday, November 3, when discrediting media reports which claimed that the party plans to retain the zoning of its presidential slot in the northeast and southeast region of the country. Ologbondiyan who described the report as mere speculation said those behind the false report were after their own selfish political ambitions, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. He urged supporters and members of the party to ignore the report which he said were aimed at instigating disagreements within the PDP. The PDP spokesperson noted that governors of the party are not divided along any lines of ambition towards 2023, adding that the party had no plan to stop the ambition of any of its members. He stated that the PDP party is yet to discuss plans for the 2023 presidential election at any time and is currently focused on how to win the governorship elections in Kogi and Bayelsa state. Ologbondiyan also called on those who feel threatened by the rising profile of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state to desist from their incessant attacks on the governor.
