How we moved N1.2 billion for Fayose - Witness
A witness in the ongoing trial of a former governor of Ekiti state, Kayode Fayose, has narrated how N1.219 billion was moved for him in an aircraft.
The witness who is an official of a bank said the evacuation was done at the instance of Abiodun Agbele, an aide to Fayose in a bullion van to the airport. He said a former minister of defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, was also present at the airport during the evacuation of the money by the bank. According to the witness, Agbele provided the bank with three different bank accounts - Privateer Nigeria Limited, Spotless Investment Limited and “a personal account of His Excellency (Fayose) - for the money to be deposited. He also mentioned Fayose as his wife, Olayemi, as signatories to the account of Spotless Investment Limited. Following the end of his cross-examination by the examiner, Rotimi Jacobs, the judge over the matter, Justice C.J Aneke adjourned further proceedings till Wednesday, October 23.
