BREAKING: Delta senator-elect Ned Nwoko sacked by Court of Appeal
The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday, May 30, annulled the judgment of the Federal High Court which favoured senator-elect Ned Nwoko and sacked Senator Peter Nwaoboshi as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta.
In its verdict given by a three-man panel on Thursday, the Court of Appeal ruled that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction to hear the suit filed by Ned Nwoko, The Nation reports. The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, in the lead judgment, held that the suit by Nwoko was statute barred and that Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court, Abuja should not have heard the case nor given the judgment which favoured Nwoko.Justice Ahmed Mohammed gave the order while delivering judgment in a suit filed by Ned Nwoko challenging the election of Nwaoboshi as the candidate of the PDP in the October 2, 2018 primaries of the party held in Delta.
