Appeal court nullifies Dino Malaye's victory as senator
The victory of Dino Melaye as the senator of Kogi West was on Friday, October 11, nullified by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
Delivering the verdict, Justice Yahaya Dantijo, the head of a three-member panel of the court, affirmed the earlier judgment of the election petition tribunal which had set aside Melaye's victory, The Cable reports. Recall that the Court of Appeal in Abuja on Tuesday, September 25 had reversed the judgment in appeals filed by Melaye, challenging his election victory that was quashed by National Assembly election petition tribunal. Dino Malaye took to his twitter handle to announce to his supporters that he just lost his election as a senator, he also appealed to his supporters to remain calm and be law abiding.
