Super Falcons qualifies for AWCON 2018, defeats Gambia 7-0 on aggregate

Nigeria's Women's national team, Super Falcons, became the last team to qualify for the 2018 Africa Women's Cup of Nations tournament to be held in neighbouring Ghana, following their impressive victory over opponents Gambia, in the second leg of their qualifying game.
The Super Falcons who held a one nil advantage going into the match, played at the Agege Stadium, progressed with a 7-0 aggregate scoreline after a 6-0 thrashing of the Gambia team.
Falcons and En Avant Guingamp striker, Desire Oparanozie helped herself to four goals while Asisat Oshoala, the current Africa Women's Footballer of The Year, registered two goals to her name.
Nigeria joined Cameroon, South Africa, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Mali, Algeria and host Ghana in the eight team tournament taking place from November 17 to December 1.
The top three team get automatic qualification for the 2019 Women's World Cup.
