- Iran is prepared for any potential U.S invasion, will continue to build missiles.
- Will not develop it's inter-ballistic missiles beyond their current 2000km range.
- The U.S. is aware of the consequences of going to war with Iran.
The Iranian government has disclosed that it will not develop its missile systems to improve on their current 2000km range which is sufficient to ward off any invasion from the United States of America.
This message was disclosed by the head of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari who told reporters in the capital, Tehran, on Tuesday that the current missile range can cover "most of American interest and forces" within the region, even as he underlined the programme's defensive purpose.
"There is the capability to increase this range, but it is sufficient for now as the Americans are present within a 2,000km radius around the country, and would get a response in the case of any invasion," the state-owned Press TV quoted him as saying.
The Revolutionary Guard is a separate force from Iran's army. It answers only to the country's supreme leader.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday told parliament members that Tehran will continue to produce missiles for defence purposes.
"We have built, are building, and will continue to build missiles," he said.
