As the Super Eagles commenced training ahead of the all important Africa Nations Cup qualifying games against the Pharaohs of Egypt, stand-in head coach, Samson Siasia seems not ready to condone laxity from the players as he barred three home-based from the camp for act of indiscipline yesterday morning.
Siasia was miffed that the players, Segun Oduduwa, Usman Mohammed and Stanley Dimgba, who were also called to the national U-23 team camp for the friendly against Brazil, reported to The Dream Team training camp late.
However, Dimgba was readmitted into the team later in the day by Siasia after a satisfactory explanation for his lateness to camp.
Siasia had ordered the three players not to show up at the Super Eagles camp as punishment for reporting late to the Olympic team camp without permission.
"We cannot have those three in camp anymore. This is very serious business, and only serious minded persons can be involved. They reported late to the camp of the U-23 team, so they cannot be tolerated in the camp of the senior team," he said.
"I have said it over the past few days that the right mentality would count big among the traits we are looking for in the players to feature against Egypt."
Siasia stated that the affected players are no longer part of his plans for the Egypt games, so they should concentrate on the friendly against Brazil with the Dream Team VI.
Team coordinator, Patrick Pascal, who confirmed Dimgba's pardon by the head coach said that both Segun Oduduwa and Usman Mohammed remain barred from the team.
``Dimgba is back to the camp because he trained with the team this evening (Monday). You know he sent away Segun Oduduwa and Usman Mohammed alongside Dimgba for lateness.
``Dimgba didn't train with us in the morning but he joined up with the rest of the players on Monday evening training", Pascal disclosed.
Oduduwa, Mohammed and Dimgba were part of the squad who won the U-23 AFCON in Senegal last year.
It will recalled that Siasia dropped some players from the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations squad, including midfielder Kingsley Sokari and forward Daniel Etor for opting to play for their club in the domestic league without his permission.
Siasia's unexpected action against the three players is an indication that many more may be shown the way out of the Super Eagles camp for any intolerable attitude.
