Ooni's security aide shot dead in Ife by armed robbers

Tragedy struck in Ile-Ife, on Tuesday when one of the security aides attached to the private residence of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi (Ojaja 11), located at Parakin Quarters was shot dead by suspected armed robbers.
The victim known as Marcus Olatunji was killed on Monday night, he is also an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, attached to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi.
A source close to the palace said the deceased, who was armed, was on his way to buy airtime at a nearby kiosk when he was shot dead by the robbers believed to be coming from an operation .The source added that the hoodlums took away Olatunji's gun.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the NSCDC command in Osun, Wale Folarin, said, "It is true one of our officers attached to the Ooni's palace was shot dead by some unidentified persons in front of a private residence of the Ooni. The killers went away with his gun. He died at the OAUTHC hospital Ife. We have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime and investigations continue as the command will get to the root of the matter".
Spokesperson of Ooni of Ife, Mr. Olafare Moses, confirmed the story, saying the monarch received the news with shock.
