ASUU Strike: FG and Union reps. fail to reach agreement yet again, strike action continues

The latest meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government with the aim of putting an end to the ongoing strike action by the union have ended with no agreement reach yet again.

The meeting was presided over by Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu, on Tuesday and attended by ASUU's president Professor Biodun Ogunyemi and other leaders of the union.

ASUU, embarked on a nationwide strike in early November to protest the poor funding of Nigerian Universities and accused the Federal Government of planning to increase students' fees, introduce an education bank and non-implementation of previous agreements.

Despite, Tuesday's meeting spanning more than fours, failure to reach an agreement with the union means the strike action continues.
