Just In: Iran confirms first 2 cases of coronavirus

Two cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Iran by the Iranian authorities on Wednesday, February 18. According to the Associated Press, this is the first two cases reported in the Islamic country. In a report by the news agency, there was also an unspecified number of other suspected cases and that those individuals have been quarantined. There are currently no details on the nationality of the two people infected by the virus or the state of their health. Isna quoted an official in the country’s health ministry, Kiyanoush Jahanpour, as saying two confirmed cases were detected in the central province of Qom.
