The united kingdom house of commons has passed a bill allowing britain to go ahead with the brexit deal, accccording to reports, the lower house yesterday passed the bill to allow the prime minister Boris Johnson lead the country out of the european union (E.U) ahead of the january 31st deadline given to the UK to conclude it's brexit debates and negotiations.
It is victory for prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, as the country’s parliament has endorsed the lingering Brexit deal. The endorsement of the bill by the House of Commons on Thursday, January 9, means that the UK may be close to exiting the European Union. Aljazeera reports that the bill was endorsed by 330 members ahead of UK’s planned exit on January 31. Johnson’s party had won a general election in December 2019 giving an edge to the passage of the bill, a feat his predecessor, Theresa May, could not achieve at the House of Commons. The report quoted Tim Bale, professor of politics at Queen Mary University of London, as saying: "Johnson has taken a party and a government that was on the edge of a nervous breakdown in the summer of 2019 to an overall majority in a legislature than now stands little chance of stopping it doing pretty much whatever it wants.” While those against the move continue to criticize it, a lot of the citizens in support of Brexit are said to be excited over the success of the prime minister. The bill is now to be debated by the UK’s House of Lords.
