Pope hails 14-year-old Nigerian saint Vivian Ogu
The head of the Catholic church, Pope Francis, on Sunday, October 27, has praised the virtue of 14-year-old Vivian Ogu as one that is exemplary of a good Christian.
According to reports, The pope was represented by Archbishop Guampetno Dal Toso, the international president of Pontifical Mission Societies, He made this known at the Vivian Ogu Missionary Animation Centre in Benin city. He said the 14-year-old showed that one can practice their faith without the fear of consequences. The Pope was also happy that such a good example of a person who laid her life down for trust in her faith. It should be recalled that the young lady was sent to an early grave on November 15, 2009 when she was shot after she fought back at the armed robbers who wanted to rape her at family house in the capital of Edo state. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, the archbishop of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan were among the prominent figures that praised the late teenager.
