- UK to curb post Brexit EU migration.
- Aims to allow only valuable migrants enter or remain in the country.
- Leaked document would have weakened Britain's resolve at the negotiation table in EU Parliament.
A leaked British Governemnt Brexit document has revealed some of the governemnt's plans especially as it relates to immigration after the UK's divorce from the European Union.
Whilst the plan acknowledges the country's withdrawal will be phased, it also strongly aims to curb immigration to make it allegedly "work for British people".
Some of the plans detailed in the leaked document will most likely make it difficult for family members of EU citizens resident in the UK to join them.
Another issue this document raises is in relation to EU rights and free movement. Whilst the UK has continued to insist that there will be no free movement with other EU countries, the documents reveal that since it will be in charge of its own immigration laws, only "valuable" migrants will be allowed to enter or remain in the country.
This leaked document would have struck a major blow to the country's ongoing Brexit negotations at the European Parliament.
More details to follow.
