Trump threatens to scrap NAFTA again, insists Mexico will pay for wall

- Trump threatens to scrap NAFTA agreement again.

- Insists that Mexico will cover the expense of setting up "the wall"
With just a few days to go before a crucial meeting with Mexico and Canada, U.S. President Donald Trump has intensified his threat to withdraw from the agreement which is already 23 years old.

"We are in the NAFTA (worst trade deal ever made) renegotiation process with Mexico & Canada. Both being very difficult, may have to terminate?" he wrote.

Trump has also continued to insist that as a result of the high rate of crime in Mexico, they would be responsible for setting up the border wall.

These comments were conveyed in a tweet the U.S. President posted early on Sunday, days before the three countries were scheduled to hold a second round of negotiations on rewriting the 23-year-old agreement.

In response, Mexico's foreign ministry issued a statement Sunday afternoon reiterating the country's position that it will not "in any way or under any circumstance" pay for Trump's signature border wall.

The Ministry also pointed out that there is high demand for drugs in the U.S. from Mexico and other countries.
