Tottenham crash out of FA cup after defeat to Norwich city on penalties

Norwich City are through to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after beating Tottenham 3-2 on penalties. Norwich needed the shootout to send Spurs out and end their dreams of reaching the last eight stage of the championship having played 1-1 draw after 120 minutes.

The north Londoners opened scoring in the 13th minute through Jan Vertonghen, but a second-half goal from Josip Drmic ensured the game extend beyond regulation period. Vertonghen gave Spurs the lead after rising above his opponent to head home a superb cross from Giovani Lo Celso from the left flank. The Argentine delivered an awesome cross into the visitors' danger zone from the left flank and the ball found his teammate who did perfect justice to the oncoming ball. With 12 minutes left to play in the normal regulation period, Josip Drmic tapped his side back into the game from close range after benefiting from Vorm's poor save.
