Odion Ighalo's will wear shirt number 25 after the Nigerian striker completed a six month loan deal to Man United. The former Nigerian international will wear the vacant Antonio Valencia's shirt as it was revealed in United's official Twitter handle.
Ighalo currently wears No.9 with his Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua which is currently occupied by Anthony Martial. The 30-year-old also wore No.24 during his spell with Premier League club Watford but it is in possession of Timothy Fosu-Mensah. But the former Nigerian international will now settle for 25 a number which compatriot Kanu Nwankwo wore at Arsenal. Ighalo landed at Manchester airport on Sunday, February 1, and can not wait to get things started when United travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea in two weeks. “It's a dream come true because since I was a kid I followed and dreamt of Manchester United. “But it is a reality now. I cannot say much more now until I get started. It's been crazy. Obviously, I am happy to be in Manchester first of all. “This is a great opportunity for me and I am grateful to God, and to my agent, and the coach who has given me this opportunity to be here. “I am happy to be here and to work out with the team and finish very well this season. “The plan is to just chill today because I travelled a very long way from Shanghai to Manchester. Today is to just rest and tomorrow we start to work.
