Djokovic reaches Australian open after defeating Roger Federer

Novak Djokovic advanced to the final of this year's Australian Open championship after brushing Swiss star Roger Federer aside in three straight sets. The 32-year-old outclassed his rival in a semifinal clash that ended 7-6, 6-4, 6-3 as the Serbian hopes to win his eighth title.

Djokovic according to Essentially Sports reports has won all his eight matches at this stage in Melbourne but has only been ended up winning the title seven times. Federer started on a very bright note leading by 5-2 but the Serb turned the game around and won the first set 7-6. The 16-time Grand Slam winner will now face either Dominic Thiem or Alexander Zverev in the final. The match could have definitely gone a different way if he had used those breakpoints [in the sixth game]," Djokovic said after the game. "He started well - I was nervous. "Respect to Roger for coming out tonight. He was obviously hurt and wasn't close to his best in terms of movement." Djokovic has been impressive in the history of the tourney having lost just three matches at Melbourne Park in the past 10 tournaments. Meanwhile, if he ends up winning the title, he would have moved one title closer to Federer's all-time record of 20 men's Grand Slam singles titles.
