Anthony Joshua to fight Kubrat Pulev in May

Bulgarian heavyweight fighter, Kubrat Pulev, has confirmed that his showdown with Anthony Joshua will hold in 2020 in Turkey capital Istanbul. The 38-year-old boxing star is billed to fight Joshua as mandatory challenger in a title-defence bout that will see IBF belt put in line. The fight, it was earlier believed, would hold inside Tottenham Hotspurs stadium but the Bulgarian has hinted at possible venue change with Instabul stadium leading the race. "The Cobra" Pulev has an impressive 28-1 record, with his defeat to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg back in 2014 being the only dent in his career. Pulev was lined to fight Joshua in 2017 but pulled out through injury, and it seems the Bulgarian fighter has won the battle over potential heavyweight showdown with the British boxing star. It can be recalled that Joshua was mandated to defend his WBO and IBF world titles against Usyk and Bulgarian star Kubrat Pulev within 180 days. The order, which came immediately after reclaiming his heavyweight belts from Mexican star Andy Ruiz, would see the 30-year-old Brit throw his hat into the ring again. And Pulev has now confirmed he will be Joshua's next challenger, although the 30-year-old's camp has not issued any statement.
