Tammy Abraham reveals why he choose England ahead of Nigeria

Tammy Abraham has openly confessed that his dream has always been to represent his country of birth England at topflight level. The Chelsea striker has in the past been lured to switch allegiance to Nigeria, but the 21-year-old opted to join Gareth Southgate's squad when he was called up last week.
The 22-year-old could finally get his chance to make his competitive debut when the Three Lions take on the Czech Republic and Bulgaria in a Euro 2020 qualifier. Nigeria did all that they could to persuade the youngster but he initially refused to disclose which country he will be representing. According to Abraham, He said: "For me, it's always nice to be wanted by two nations. Clearly it means you're doing something well. "At the back of my head, I've always wanted to play for England. I was born and grown in England. "My dream was always to play for England. It doesn't effect the fact Nigeria still wanted me, and it's a big nation. I love both nations. My head was just screwed on with England. "I'm here and I'm ready to stay. I want to do the best I can. That means playing well, for club and country. "Just hopefully I can get many years experience under my belt for England." Abraham who has scored nine goals for Chelsea in all competitions this season, will be fully committed for the rest of his career if he plays for England either against the Czech Republic or Bulgaria.
