Ronaldo’s assault accuser family breaks silence after prosecutors refusal to file criminal charges
Prosecutors revealed on Monday night that the allegations “cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt” Cristiano Ronaldo’s assault accuser family member has reacted after prosecutors in US refused filing criminal charges against the Juventus forward.
According to The Mirror, Kathryn Mayorga, the former model in the middle of storm claimed Ronaldo assaulted her without her consent at a Las Vegas hotel back in 2009. An allegation Ronaldo has continued to deny. And on Monday, July 22, Clark County District Attorney’s Office revealed that "the allegations of sexual assault against Cristiano Ronaldo cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt” despite Miss Mayorga plea to police to reopen the probe since last year. Reacting on the latest development, the ex- model’s mother, Cheryl Mayorga said the alleged assault case is not over. “We’re just not going to comment right now because I’m not sure it is over,” she stressed. Interestingly, Mayorga instituted a civil lawsuit in Las Vegas, seeking to overturn a £288,000 non-disclosure deal she entered in 2010 claiming it was made under duress. Moments after heading to the court rooms, Ronaldo took to the social media to state his innocence, with regard to Mayorga’s allegations. “What they said today: Fake, fake news, he said in a video posted on Instagram. They want to promote by my name. It’s normal. They want to be famous, he continued. It’s part of the job. I’m a happy man and all good.
