Samuel Eto'o believes Mourinho is better than Guardiola

Samuel Eto'o has taken his stand on who he thinks is the better manager between Mourinho and Guardiola. The 38-year-old has played under both managers at top level in his colourful footballing career, Eto'o also won the Champions League with both managers when he played with Barcelona and Inter respectively.
Samuel Eto'o has insisted Jose Mourinho's success as a manager is better than his closest competitor Pep Guardiola. The Cameroonian legend has played under both managers during his respective spells with Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea. Eto'o was instrumental in Guardiola's first stint at Barcelona in the 2007-08 season, where he won six trophies, including - La Liga, Champions League, Copa del Rey, Super Cup, World Club Cup and Suppercoppa Espana. The Real Madrid academy graduate stated that Guardiola only won the tournament with the star-studded Barca while Mourinho made his mark with Portuguese side FC Porto. Mourinho has two Champions League titles with Porto and Inter which Eto'o believes it is more difficult to achieve with a few crop of talented players. "I can't compare Mourinho and Gaurdiola. One didn't manage to win the Champions League with Bayern, while the other did it with Porto. It's all clear," he said.
Guardiola has struggled to win the tournament during his managerial career with Bayern Munich and Manchester City. The Spaniard's latest defeat was in the quarter finals of the 2018-19 season, losing out to Premier League side Tottenham, on the away-goal rule. Eto'o was part of Mourinho's squad with Inter that knocked Barcelona side manged by Guardiola out of the elite competition in the 2009-10 season, and went on to beat Bayern Munich in the finals. According to Give Me Football, citing an interview with beIN Sports, the 38-year-old Cameroonian, who spent one season under the Spaniard insists he deserves credit for Guardiola’s success during the 2008-09 season and not Messi.
