EPL: Watford's defeat leaves Chelsea on the verge on losing top four spot.
Chelsea's coach Antonio Conte is under heavy pressure following his side lastest defeat to Watford(the first time Watford, the hornets first victory over chelsea since 1999. Chelsea's recent performance has not reflected the spirit showed by the team which, at this poiont last season, were on course to the premier lwague title.
The rumours surrounding Conte's future at chelsea and his constant complaints of the club's transfer policy is having an impact on the team. At the pre-match, he called on the club to issue a statement backing him to extinguish rumours of his sack, but this latest performance against a Watford side playing their third game of new coach Javi Carcia has done little to ensure the board show their faith in him.
Antonio Conte insisted that he does not worry about being sacked and that players can influence his exit from the club. Having lost to bournemouth 5 days back, Chelsea suffered a second humiliating Premier League defeat as they hit a 23 year low in the club's history.
The Italian admitted in a post match interview that he might have made a mistake in his team selection which resulted in an unninspiring performance.
Daryl Janmaat, Gerard Deulofeu and Roberto Pereyra all struck at Vicarage Road to cement the victory despite a brilliant goal from Eden Hazard saw chelea briefly level the scoreline after Troy Deeney had put the home side one goal up. Chelsea had Tiemoue Bakayoko sent off for two yellow card bookings in a 5 minutes space .
Chelsea currently sit fourth in the premier league table, and risk falling out of the top four with one point above 5th placed Tottenham and one below 3rd place Liverpool.
Their next game sees the blues welcome West Bromwich Albion next Monday, and then Hull City in the FA Cup 5th round four days later before a crunch home Champions League game against current La Liga leaders Barcelona.
