- Man Utd vs Liverpool is just another game, nothing to prove - Mourinho.
- Mourinho believes United have improved this season.
- United's last visit to Anfield ended in a goalless draw.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has stated that his side have nothing to prove as they travel to face Liverpool FC at Anfield after a blistering start to the premier league season.
Mourinho argued that even though Pundits may say his side need to beat top five sides in the league this season to prove they have actually improved. The United manager stated that his side has already defeated teams they failed to win last season including Everton and West Ham.
"We have to prove nothing," he told Sky Sports. "We have our objectives for the season, we know where we want to go and how we have to go.
"This is press talk, or pundit talk: 'We have something to prove, [Romelu] Lukaku has to score, we have to win' [is what they say]. One match, one result, one performance. That's not going to change anything.
"You can say, like some people do, we have not played one of the top five teams but last season we did not beat West Ham at home, last season we did not beat Everton at home or Southampton away."
United's last visit to Anfield in the Premier league last season ended in a goalless draw where Mourinho was widely criticised for being overly defensive.
