After an opening brilliant goal from Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane both scored twice to complete the 5-0 rout against against Liverpool.

Thirteen minutes after the opening goal was scored, Liverpool star man, Sadio Mane was shown the red card for a high booted challenge with Manchester City's goalkeeper. Although replays showed that he had his eyes on the ball long before the City shot stopper came charging out, it was a dangerous challenge and goalkeeper Ederson had to be stretchered off.

From thereon, there was no coming back for Liverpool who were bettered in every aspect of the game on the day.
