Iheanacho topples Mikel to become Nigeria's highest EPL earner

Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho has signed an 85,000/week deal with City, thereby knocking off Chelsea player, Mikel Obi, to claim the top spot as Nigeria's highest earner in the English Premier League.
Iheanacho who recently signed a new two-year contract extension at City till 2021, said his new contract will "change the lives of his family".
Mikel, who moved to England 10 years ago, and is now on a 70,000/week salary at Stamford Bridge, had been Nigeria's highest EPL earner for many years.
Another Nigerian player, Victor Moses, who also plays for Chelsea, bagged a 50,000/week salary when he joined the Blues from Wigan Athletic in 2012.
Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, is believed to have improved on his 25,000/week salary after he recently signed a contract extension.
Defender, Kenneth Omeruo, is on 15,000/week, even though he has yet to play an official match for Chelsea.
According to reports, Iheanacho's new bumper deal was negotiated by his new handlers, even though they are still locked in an ownership tussle with the player's previous representatives, who are based in the United States of America.
Iheanacho's former agents had proposed a new contract of 50,000/week for the 19-year-old forward.
He earned less than 18,000/week when he first joined Manchester City.
